Ingredients
  

For the Tofu

  • 1 block 14 oz tofu (soft or medium-firm)
  • 4 cups water for boiling

For the Aromatic Topping

  • 2 scallions finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Shao Xing vinegar or rice vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon pink salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro chopped

👉 Optional Add-Ins:

  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes for spice
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce or tamari for extra umami
  • ½ teaspoon toasted sesame seeds for crunch

Instructions
 

Boil the Tofu

  • Bring a pot of water to a gentle boil.
  • Cut the tofu into large cubes or slabs and add them to the water.
  • Simmer for 5-7 minutes until heated through. This process firms up the tofu and removes any raw bean flavor.
  • Strain and Prepare the Tofu
  • Carefully remove the tofu using a slotted spoon.
  • Drain excess water and place it on a serving plate.

Make the Aromatic Topping

  • Finely chop the scallions, garlic, ginger, and cilantro.
  • Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add ginger and garlic, sautéing until fragrant.
  • Stir in scallions, Shao Xing vinegar, and pink salt, mixing well.

Serve & Enjoy
